My Baby’s Mobile Turned Out Perfect Thanks to Benzie Felt

I purchased the Sea Creatures Felt Pattern by Little Dear along with matching felt and embroidery floss from Benzie Design, and I used them to create a baby mobile. It came out absolutely perfect! The instructions were clear, easy to follow, and the felt is simply beautiful.

I’ve loved Benzie felt for years. When I lived in the U.S., I made my firstborn’s mobile using Benzie felt, and it was such a joy to work with. A while ago, I did have a difficult experience when I tried to order from Benzie’s Etsy shop to my new home country. The shipping was very expensive, took a long time, and sadly my package was lost in the mail. I was honestly heartbroken because I had been so excited to work with it. I did receive a refund, but of course, it couldn’t make up for losing the beautiful felt I had been waiting for.

That experience made me realize just how much I value Benzie felt so much so that I went searching everywhere locally for something comparable. I drove an hour and a half to one shop (that doesn’t even ship) only to be disappointed, the colors were dull, the felt shed little fibers constantly, and it wasn’t pleasant to stitch. I tried three other types of wool-blend felt from different stores and was equally disappointed. Nothing came close to Benzie.

For this project, I patiently waited until I could visit the U.S. again, and I ordered from Benzie for my second child’s mobile. It was 100% worth the wait! The colors are stunning, the quality is fantastic, and sewing with it was such a pleasure.

I’m on a limited budget, but after finishing this project, I told my husband that if we ever win the lottery, the very first thing I’d buy would be the full Benzie wool-blend felt collection—every one of the 90 gorgeous colors in 12x18 size!

Benzie felt is unmatched. Beautiful colors, amazing quality, and worth every penny.

The patternsare well drawn and the directions are clear. I would ask that they have be there in black and white, it's easier to make copies on my printer.

I love these creatures !!! I was able to pick out colors of felt and thread that resemble the pictures however once getting everything cut out and ready to stitch - I was thinking it would be easy as indicated for someone who doesn’t do embroidery. I’m still trying to figure out which stitch goes where.

We love using Aimee's tissue paper transfer method for embroidery. It might help to go check out this tutorial: https://www.benziedesign.com/blogs/tutorials/transferring-patterns-to-felt. You can stitch right over the tissue paper pattern -and the best part is that you are learning a new skill! Great job!
