This is your sign to celebrate! Literally. This Happy Birthday Banner from Maker Team member Melody of @mel_part is a special way to honor everyone's special day. Even a simple breakfast will feel like a party with a handmade banner. We think Melody's tutorial will become a celebratory staple worthy of your favorite people, so let's get this party started!
This Birthday Banner is a simple (no-sew!) project that gets pulled out to make every birthday in my household special. Use the felt colors recommended below or play with a color combo that compliments your party and your family!
Skill Level: Beginner
Time: 1-2 hours
Additional Supplies:
Birthday Banner Template (click to download)
Freezer Paper - optional
Directions:
1. Print Birthday Banner Template above. Cut out pattern and trace onto felt with Frixion pen. Alternatively, use the Freezer Paper method to transfer pattern to felt. Cut out.

2. Use Fabri-Tac to glue one Letter onto each scalloped Banner. Center Letter in space below dashed line on pattern.

3. Draw a line of glue on back of Banner along straight edge. Fold down according to dashed line on pattern (about 1 1/2") to create a channel for stringing. Press under a book and allow to dry.

4. To make Tassels, wrap yarn around a flat object. I used a quilting ruler, but cardboard would work, too.

5. Slide yarn off and use a separate length of yarn to secure around wrapped yarn about 1/4 from the top. The short side is a loop for stringing.

Clip loops from longer side to create free tassel ends.

6. Cut length of yarn and string Tassels and embellished Banners on one row or two to create birthday message.

Hang it up for birthday celebrations for years to come!
