Introducing our new Ring of Roses deep etch die designed by BZ Creations. Once cut, these beautiful flowers are ready to be stitched and displayed within an embroidery hoop - as an evergreen bouquet of Roses! Brianna has also created the Cluster of Cosmos and Spray of Sunflowers dies to compliment this design. Display as a set or combine the elements from all three to create a larger floral embroidery piece!
Skill Level: Beginner
Time: 2 hours
Additional Supplies:
Roses Template (click to download)
Die Cut Machine
Directions:
All stitching will use three strands of embroidery floss unless otherwise noted.
1. Use Ring of Roses Die and a cutting machine to cut the following from felt:
Extra Large Rose - Cut 1 from Salmon and Rose Quartz
Large Rose - Cut 1 from Salmon, Rose Quartz and Tellina
Medium Rose - Cut 1 from Salmon, Rose Quartz and Tellina
Small Rose - Cut 1 from Salmon, Rose Quartz and Tellina
Buttercup - Cut 2 from Custard
Leaf - Cut 3 from Agave
Some cut elements have small holes or "pierce points" to use when attaching to backing fabric. As an alternative to die cutting, print Ring of Roses pattern to trace shapes onto felt.
2. Transfer Roses Template to cotton fabric with Frixion pen. This can be accomplished using a light source behind the two components, such as a window or light box. Place fabric in hoop.
3. Use DMC 955 to attach each leaf with one long straight stitch through pierce points. Leaves will overhang hoop edge.

4. Use DMC 3341 to attach Salmon Rose. Attach each layer individually (largest to smallest) by bringing floss up between petals and down near flower center.

5. Use DMC 3778 to attach Rose Quartz Rose in like manner.

6. Use DMC 963 to attach Tellina felt in like manner. Note that this flower does not include Extra Large Rose layer.

7. Use four strands of DMC 368 to create Buttercup stems. Begin with one straight stitch down middle, then add two overlapping stitches from either side to create a V shape.

8. Use DMC 745 and three straight stitches to attach Buttercups. Come up through pierce points and down to bottom edge of flower.

9. Once all felt elements are attached, use heat (blow dryer or iron) to remove markings from Frixion pen.
