The holidays are a great time to get organized! Whether you received some new felt as a gift, or your crafting space is a beautiful mess from a frenzy of holiday crafts, taking some time at the start of a new year to tidy up sets you up for a great year of crafting! We are happy to show you storage tips from Benzie Design Maker Team member Astrid of @treehousefeltflowers who shows us her incredible custom made system, and former Benzie staffer Laura of @lmhquilts who uses pre-made storage containers for her felt. Post pictures of your felt organization on Instagram and use the #benziefelt hashtag so we can see your organization system!

Flower storage boxes are amazingly helpful for me. Each 4" x 6" box is labeled by flower type and any leftover petals, wire, leaves, etc are stored by flower for easy access. I have 50 boxes - and they are all filled!
Next to the boxes are 50 more, which hold scrap pieces of felt by color, and my felt poms.

The first thing I do when I get new felt is roll them and add some baker's twine to keep them rolled. When felt is rolled, it's easier to retrieve since flat felt sheets stick to each other completely, and since they are rolled instead of folded they won't get creases.
I put my rolled felt sheets into clear divided turntables, which are available at home organization stores and are often used for kitchen supplies. Having them on turntables means I can spin them around and see a variety of colors, plus it looks beautiful! These divided turntables come with three removable compartments, which also helps me pull felt off my shelf easily.
