Jam Jar Magnet

We can't get over the sweetness of this tutorial from new Maker Team member Erika of @sunkissed_crafts! Her felt Jam Jar Magnet evokes all the memories of summer and sunshine and sticky fingers from jam on toast. (Now we want toast.) And once you follow Erika's recipe, you can make a whole collection of magnetic jams and jellies. This is the glow-up your refrigerator has been waiting for!

Calling all jam lovers! These adorable felt jam magnets are the sweetest addition to your fridge. In this tutorial, I will show you how to create a cute strawberry jam magnet out of felt. Just in time for strawberry picking season, these felt magnets are the perfect gift or make a cute little keepsake to brighten up your own kitchen!

Directions:

1. Download and print Jam Jar Template above. Cut out pattern pieces and trace shapes onto designated colors of felt. Cut out.

2. Use DMC 951 and a running stitch to attach Label to jar Front.

3. To sew Strawberry onto Label, use DMC 951 and small tack stitches in varying places on Strawberry. These stitches will be visible and mimic seeds, so place accordingly.

4. Attach Stem by adding a small stitch to each leaf with DMC 730.

5. Position Lid on top of Front using Base as placement guide. Add a long stitch aross cinched center of Lid with DMC 951. Add a bow along stitch for added detail!

6. Sandwich Base, stuffing and embellished front together. Pin or clip in place.

7. Use DMC 951 (or coordinating flosses) to blanket stitch around perimeter.

8. Add magnet to back of Jam Jar with E6000 glue. Allow to dry fully. Magnets are a choking hazard, so keep out of reach of small children or enclose magnet fully within jar.

Life is better with some jam! Use your creativity and this template to try out some other berry cute fruit options. Some of my other favorites to make are blueberry and grape jam!
