Directions:

1. This pattern is for two separate Christmas ornaments - a blue/green bauble and an orange/pink teardrop ornament. Start by printing out both patterns onto freezer paper. Print on the non-shiny side of the paper.

Cutting out pattern pieces

Cut out all the shapes for both patterns. Leave a little space around the shape outlines and then iron the freezer paper pieces onto the corresponding colors of felt. The white and gold felt will be used for both patterns. Cut around the shapes.

2. Make two separate piles, one for each ornament, before peeling off the freezer paper backing. Now that the pieces are ready, let's begin with the green/blue bauble.

Sorting ornament pieces

3. Take piece B and apply glue to the non-metallic side of the felt. Position on top of A. Repeat this for the second set of A and B.

4. Take piece C and apply glue to one side. Position this on top of B, aligning in the middle. Repeat for the second set.

5. Take piece D and apply glue on one side. Position in the middle of C. Repeat for the second set.

6. Apply glue to the non-metallic side of piece F. Use a little less glue to avoid the glue seeping out around the edges. Position in the middle of D, making sure the cross faces upward like a plus sign. Repeat this for second set. Dab a dot of glue on piece E and center on F. Repeat for the other set. Leave both sides of the ornament to dry for at least five minutes.

7. Cut a 10" length of gold elastic cord. Loop the cord and tie a knot about 1" from the bottom. Apply glue on the inside of one ornament panel, including underneath the area where the elastic will be held. Add the elastic to the inside and make sure that the knot is nestled just outside the felt shape. Add glue to the inside of the other panel before aligning the two sides. Hold in place for a couple of seconds until secure.

8. Take piece G and apply glue to the non-metallic side. Line up with the top of the ornament, making sure the elastic knot sits above it. Repeat with other side. Pinch and hold together to make sure that the tops adhere properly. You’ve now finished your first ornament!

9. The pieces for the teardrop ornament were cut out previously, so it’s ready to assemble. Add glue to the non-metallic side of piece B and place it on top of A. Repeat for the other A and B pieces.

10. Apply glue to one side of piece C and center on top of B. Then take piece F and glue one side before centering on C. Repeat for the second set.

12. Apply a small amount of glue to the non-metallic side of piece H before centering on G. Make sure the cross faces upward like a plus sign. Place a little dab of glue on piece I and place the small circle on the center of H. Repeat for the second set.

Adding metallic details to teardrop

Add a small amount of glue to the non-metallic side of all E pieces.

13. Place the larger circle (piece E) above the center of the design and then the smaller circle above. The other two circles are a mirror image below. Repeat with the second set of E pieces.

Adding elastic loop for hanging

Add glue to the inside of the other panel before aligning the two sides. Hold in place for a couple of seconds until secure. Allow to dry completely.

15. Apply glue to the non-metallic side of piece D. Line up with the top of the ornament, making sure the elastic knot sits above it. Repeat with the other side. Pinch and hold together to make sure the tops are secure. Now you have completed both ornaments!
