Iron
1” Foam Brush – optional
Sewing Machine – optional

Directions:

Scissor Sheath

1. Print or trace pattern templates onto the dull side of freezer paper. Iron shiny side onto felt, then cut out all pieces. Carefully remove freezer paper.

2. Using Tacky Glue, lightly adhere Shape A, Shape B, Shape C and Shape D onto one Shape E. These should align neatly and fully cover Shape E. Use a foam brush to apply glue smoothly. Avoid excess glue around the edges if you plan to stitch layers in place.

3. Secure the layers by machine or hand stitching them in place with a straight stitch. Skip stitching for a no-sew version.

4. Place assembled Shape E (Watermelon Slice Top) right sides together with second Shape E. Use Wonder Clips to hold in place.

Stitch down both straight sides with a 1/8" seam allowance, leaving the curved top open to form a cone. Round the bottom instead of forming a point as this makes turning easier and looks smoother.

No-sew option: Place pieces wrong sides together and glue straight edges only (forming a cone), then skip to Step 6.

5. Trim the bottom point, turn sheath right side out, and press gently.

6. Center and glue assembled sheath onto scalloped Shape F. Again, use a foam brush for smooth application and avoid glue near straight edges if stitching.

7. Stitch the straight sides of watermelon slice to Shape F using preferred method (machine or hand stitching) or leave unstitched for a glue-only finish.

8. Adhere Shape G seed pieces with glue to complete watermelon slice.

Scissor Fob

9. Cut a 10-12" piece of Baker’s Twine (adjust length to preference). Fold in half and tie loose ends together in a small knot. Trim off any excess twine at the knot.

10. Insert looped end of twine into a Garland Stringing Needle.

11. Insert needle into base of the Ladybug, approximately where the stripe meets the head. Exit through center of back, between the two dots. Pull twine through until the knot is mostly hidden at the base.

12. To attach the fob:

a. Thread loop through one handle of scissors.
b. Bring ladybug through the loop on opposite side.
c. Pull gently to tighten and secure fob in place.

And there you have it - your very own Ladybug Picnic Scissor Sheath and Fob!

This cheerful duo is sure to add a pop of summer fun to your crafting space. Whether you stitched every detail or opted for a no-sew version, you’ve created something both functional and adorable. Keep those creative juices flowing, and don’t forget to show off your finished project - you’ve earned it!
