Using our new Shamrock Ornament deep etch die designed by BZ Creations, prepping this craft is quick and perfect every time. The felt and floss embellishments bring the rainbow and give you an opportunity to practice those embroidery stitches. No luck is needed for this craft - just a little time and felt!
Additional Supplies:
Die Cut Machine
Frixion Pen - optional
Bakers Twine - optional
Directions:
1. Use Shamrock Ornament Die and a cutting machine to cut the following from felt:
Stitchable Base - Cut 2 from Selva
Small Shamrock - Cut 1 from Limelight
Large Flower - Cut 1 from Tellina, Salmon, Canary, Honeydew, Cornflower and Allium
Small Flower - Cut 1 from Hibiscus, Persimmon, Mikado, Agave, Chagall and Phlox
Flower Center - Cut 6 from Butterscotch
2. Place Small Shamrock in center of Stitchable Base. Stitch in place with three strands of DMC 907 and a lazy daisy stitch.

All stitching will use three strands of embroidery floss unless otherwise noted.
3. Stack Large and Small Flowers in coordinating colors and add Flower Centers on top. Position each flower stack at a curved end of the Stitchable Base, moving clockwise in rainbow order. Stitch in place with DMC 3852 and a French knot (wrapped twice.)

4. Use DMC 906 and back stitches to make a stem between bottom of Large Flower and Small Shamrock. Add leaves with long lazy daisy stitches. You may find it useful to draw guidelines with a Frixion pen prior to stitching. Markings can be removed later with a hair dryer or iron.

5. Add a small heart between flowers on each Shamrock leaf (three total) using two strands of DMC 3865 and two lazy daisy stitches. Add a straight stitch in the center of each lazy daisy stitch to fill in.

6. Stitch French knots (wrapped once) around each inner point of Small Shamrock with DMC 3865.

7. Place two Stitchable Bases (embellished side facing out) together. Stitch together using DMC 3852. To hide the beginning knot, start under the Small Shamrock on front and then come up through a stitch hole in the top layer. Whip stitch around perimeter.

8. If you are adding a string for hanging, hold it in place and stitch through it while whip stitching perimeter.

9. Prior to stitching Shamrock closed, stuff using Polyfil or felt scraps. Continue stitching closed.

10. To finish stitching, enter the final hole on back side and come back up a few stitches down to knot thread. Tuck the knotted end back into ornament.
