Welcome to Grown Up Camp Crafts with Benzie Design + Therm O Web! We're sharing fabulous Summer Camp-style tutorials all week, along with the chance to win $25 gift cards from Benzie and Therm O Web. Find the details at the end of this Felt Glasses Case tutorial designed by Benzie contributor Camille Ipsen.

Warmer weather has my family headed outdoors - and I can't go anywhere without my sunglasses! I find myself grabbing different bags or backpacks depending on the adventure, so it's great to have a nice case so my glasses don't get broken and scratched. This felt glasses case will keep your glasses safe and looks great too! Now let me show you how easy this was to make using Therm O Web's printable iron-on adhesive.

Therm O Web Pressing Paper
Iron

Directions:

1. Print Glasses Case Pattern above onto cardstock. Trace pattern pieces onto Magpie and Cornflower felt for Inner and Outer Sleeves. Cut out and set aside.

2. Print Decorative Pattern above onto Therm O Web EZ Print Lite iron-on adhesive sheet. Sheet should be placed so printing is on the plain paper side. Allow 5-10 seconds for ink to dry before handling.

3. Cut out pattern pieces from fusible sheets. Shapes from same felt colors are grouped together and can be cut as a single unit.

4. Place fusible pattern on the indicated felt with paper side face up. Place iron (medium heat, no steam) on the paper liner for 2 seconds. Repeat until entire surface is bonded, then allow to cool.

5. Cut out felt using fused pattern as guide.

6. Position Cornflower Outer Sleeve with the rounded corners at the bottom. Add decorative pieces beginning at left and right bottom corners. Add the Bottom Stripe first (on either side) by peeling off the paper liner.

7. Place felt shape (adhesive side down) in place. Cover with pressing paper and iron for 10 seconds, overlapping slightly, until entire surface is bonded. Iron on the reverse side, using pressing paper, for another 10 seconds. Due to the thickness of felt, additional ironing time is necessary.

8. Continue to work up and toward the center until all felt shapes have been applied to Outer Sleeve.

9. Use coordinating thread to secure decorative shapes with whip or straight stitches. Do not stitch along sides that touch outer edge of case.

10. Fold Inner Sleeve in half (rounded corners touching) and fold Outer Sleeve around it. Make sure edges of Inner Sleeve are flush with decorative cover. The Magpie felt will create a contrasting stripe along outer edge. Clip or pin together.

11. Use one strand of wool embroidery thread to blanket stitch around bottom and side edges, leaving top edge open.

Your glasses case is finished! The wool felt and sturdy construction make this ideal for throwing in your purse or pool bag when you head out.

And I love the Pendleton vibes. The rich felt hues and mountain lake scene feels like a grown up Summer Camp I'd like to visit!
