Heading back to school is always a time for kids to celebrate, even when it looks and feels very different than usual. Whether your kid is going back to virtual school, a hybrid school model, or full in-person classes, make sure their first day is extra special with these fun letter board accessories by Sue of @bluewithoutyoukids! Snap the perfect picture to commemorate the start of a school year they are sure to remember forever!

This craft is designed for all the letter board lovers out there! Adding fun pops of color to your clever quotes and milestone photos is easy because these felt decorations will stick to the felt on your letter board. I created them for Back to School, but they're versatile enough for any occasion. Best of all, you can make them using felt scraps left over from other Benzie projects!

Supplies for Confetti:

1" Felt-Fetti Circles in colors of your choice

Make the Crayons

Cut lighter and darker shades of felt for each color of crayon using the downloadable pattern. Tip: For super straight edges, I used my rotary cutter to cut 1" strips of felt, then cut the shorter ends of crayons by hand using the pattern as a guide.

Cut 1/4" x 1" strips of Graphite Wool Blend Felt for stripes on the crayon wrapper. Then cut 3/8" x 2" strips for the oval label. Round the edges according to the patter. Tip: I used a rotary cutter for the straight edges.

Glue pieces together as shown.

Make the School Pennant

Cut pennant, letter, and trim pieces according to the pattern. Tip: It's easy to customize the pennant for your child's school by making the pennant in their school colors!

Glue pennant pieces together as shown.

Add Felt-Fetti - The Easiest Letter Board Decor Ever!

Use 1" Benzie Felt-Fetti packs to decorate your board. You can choose up to 4 colors per pack to customize them however you would like. I always cut several pieces in half for the edges of my board. Tip: If you'd like to use your own scraps to make Felt-Fetti, use the 1" circle in the Letter Board Accessories downloadable pattern.

That's all there is to it! Now your letter board will be ready for this "extra special" school year. And no worries if you don't have a letter board. These projects will also make cute garlands or bulletin board decor. We can't wait to see what you do with them!
